About Us
Why RagLock Exists
With over 27 years in fire restoration, I respond to 3–5 oily rag fires every year. Most homeowners don’t realize that rags soaked with linseed oil, stain, or other oil-based products can ignite on their own through spontaneous combustion.
I created RagLock to provide a simple, safe, affordable way to store oily rags until proper disposal. This container is designed to prevent oxygen exposure, reduce combustion risk, and make homes and job sites safer.
What We Do
Safety Warnings
Oily rags can spontaneously combust if stored improperly.
To reduce fire risk, always soak rags in water before placing them in RagLock, keep the container away from heat or flames, store it safely out of reach of children and pets, and follow all local disposal regulations.
Always soak rags in water before placing them in RagLock.
Fully wetting oily rags helps dissipate heat and significantly reduces the risk of spontaneous combustion before they are safely stored and disposed of.
Keep away from heat, sparks, or open flame.
Store the container in a cool, stable location away from heaters, electrical sparks, welding areas, or open flames to help minimize the risk of ignition.
Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Place the container in a secure location where children and pets cannot access it, helping prevent accidental tipping, opening, or unsafe handling.
Do not place filled container in household trash.
Never dispose of a filled RagLock container in regular household garbage, as improper disposal can increase fire risk and violate local safety regulations.
Follow local regulations for proper disposal of oily rags.
Dispose of oily rags according to your local hazardous waste guidelines to ensure safe handling, environmental protection, and compliance with fire safety requirements.
